Don Bluth was good at just about everything. His constant struggles with the censors took the fight out of him though. By the 90s, he just gave up and made everything sunshine and rainbows. That wasn't his style.

Even then, he had moments that shined. Something like The Pebble and the Penguin still felt like classic Don Bluth when that giant-ass sea lion was on screen or when the hero penguin fought that bully Tim Curry penguin. Anastasia was great. Titan A.E. could've been better. I won't even mention that one set in Central Park. <_<

The Land Before Time is the all-time greatest animated movie for me.

Mercifully, I haven't had to do without during this pandemic.

The first time I saw a toilet paper meme, I bought a large pack of toilet paper. The local Kroger has had toilet paper four out of five times I've stopped by there. (As I already had a supply, I did not purchase new rolls *every* visit.) They were out of beef once. Another time, they restocked the shelves of beef as I was there looking at an otherwise empty shelf. And I was able to get hand sanitizer from CVS. So far, I have all that I need.

MCU Reed Richards will likely be black.

The team lacks diversity, changing the ethnicity of one of the Storm siblings was a disaster for Fan4stic, and making the rock monster a minority wouldn't help much because he's going to be CGI for 60% of the movie.

Unless they really want to shoehorn Black Panther into the very first Fantastic Four movie, I'm thinking Reed Richards is the one most likely to get hit by the diversity ball.

That's not a criticism; just a prediction.

They've changed to yellow text on a black background to promote some show. But when you click on trivia pages, the yellow text is shown against a white background. It's unreadable. You could scroll over the text and highlight it to read it. But if you have to do that to read it, then fuck it.

This is one of the dumbest things they've done. And that show they're advertising looks like shit.

I mean, this is nothing new. Jesse Ventura used to call Tito Santana's finisher the Flying Jalapeno.

I'll grant that it's dated and should probably be left in the past. But calling for his termination for doing something his character has done for 20+ years is like calling for Dan Castellaneta to be fired from The Simpsons should Homer ever choke Bart again.

If the economy's not reopened by June, I'm ready to take a Darwinistic approach. I won't give up two years of my life to insure continued existence. I could be hit by a car the day after we reopen sports arenas and theme parks. I could die of heart disease after a lifetime of bad foods.

There comes a point where the sacrifice isn't worth the security. Fall of 2021 is a lot later than I'm willing to wait for.

I hate censorship.

I hate how it stands in the way of hope for naked women everywhere.

But this does present an interesting dilemma for Disney. I don't have Disney+, but it's my understanding that it's basically Netflix for kids and family. So, what happens to Disney's adult properties? On what service do you watch movies made under the Touchstone banner or Fox's R-rated films? Good look censoring Aliens for the kiddies.)

That's not the point. Bond is to being suave what Superman is to being a paragon of virtue.

Bond will shoot a man in the stomach and testicles, then cold walk away as they're still clinging to life. But within an hour or so, he's going to be popping open a bottle of champagne and making sweet talk to someone he met the night before.

The whole "Bond before he was suave" thing doesn't really add up. It's what defines him. It's what sets him apart from every other hero with a gun. It especially doesn't add up when the sequels have fought to try and prevent him from developing into the character we know.

If you watch the Timothy Dalton movies, Bond can be a ruthless killer and still be a suave antihero. The two things are not mutually exclusive. They chose a different path for the character because it's what they want from him. And it's why they struggle to maintain relevance. You can't be successful while fighting the underlining appeal of your property.

Bond was always suave though. Whether he was a hero, an antihero, or a straight up ruthless killer, he was always smoother than silk. Casino Royale had him wear the tux with contempt after being forced to wear it.

And I don't think they realistically had any intention of him transitioning into the Bond we know. They've fought with the fans ever since. They relented in Skyfall after the Quantum of Solace Backlash. But then he regressed right back to being a ruthless and rusty character in SPECTRE.

They don't want him to be James Bond. They want him to be Jason Bourne.
